Sharp Equivalent to Sony CVM-1220/1225
I've only seen these monitors once and they sold before I had a chance to get to them. I haven't been able to come across any information about them, but I figured if anybody knew about them it would be someone here. As the title states, they were roughly equivalent to the early color CVMs; they had a television style cabinet with horizontal arrangement, a tuner, and composite inputs in the back. The composite ports were SO-239 and there may or may not have been a second composite input through a VTR port. I don't recall if they carried the Linytron branding or not.
Has anyone seen monitors like these? I've never come across them again. |

.
Sharp did have high quality monitors with gorgeous (Simulated Wood Grain) cabinet. It was a 13" or 14" Linytron had tuner, and many inputs that I have never seen before. We had 2 in our shop, I worked at a satellite Sharp service center around 1981 - 84. We did factory service for Sharp, and many other brands. But for Sharp we had a lot of stuff I never saw in stores. The Linytron sets were really good, I have several in my collection from 9" - 25" - one of which is my daily driver since 1984 or 85, With of course Simulated Wood Grain Cabinet.... I Love those years for all makes of tv sets.... Those monitors had a ton of knobs on them too, and clicker tuners, nice quality speakers too! We made many trips to the Sharp US Headquarters in Paramus, NJ - Just about 20 Minutes from the shop...... They might have just had the SHARP name on them, not sure.... .
