I remember reading about the Kuba Komet here I think.......or maybe it was an even rarer US made clone of one. Either way somebody here has to know.

3 Predictas, a Halolight, and a Komet, That's on helluva TV collection going there

Still scared to death of these things. I can see myself getting one, celebrating that nite by going out & getting loaded on Old Rotgut, coming home, get into a fight w/it, tripping & impaling myself on one of its spikes.... Like the story of the unfortunate kid in spring 1959 who was running to catch a line drive in a Little League game & SKEWERED himself on the fin of a shiny new '59 Caddy... As Penn Jillette puts it- "Bullshit...."

Hi,
I am in Germany and I own a 1959/60-21" model with radio, record player and tape recorder.
If you still need help after this long time please let me know.
I did re-imported my set from the states.

Regards,
TV-collector

ETF in Hilliard has one. You might reach out to Steve McVoy with some of your questions. Steve is on the forum.

I came across this listing for the Komet Goldfilter, and thought you fellas would get a kick out of seeing how many Deutsche Marks it cost when new.......almost 3,000 DM! That was around $755-$800 USD in 1961. A very pricey set for the day!

Biggest thing I thought about w/the Komet was why the Mfger didn't try to big-deal RCA & license a COLOR version... Now, THAT woulda been Somethin', indeed ! We were tryin' to Woo the West Germans as hard as possible to keep them out of the Rooskies' orbit, "Space" stuff was BIG rhen, what woulda been more "Spacey" than a COLOR Komet ?!?... Yeah, I know, I'm Crazy.. But ya gotta think, "What If....?!?"

I wonder whether the author of this video, Jack Saunders, is on this forum.

Hi,
Anybody here to contact Mr. Saunders?
It is possible, that I can help him out, to get an original chassis.
Maybe he is on ARF, my account (SIXMILLION DOLLARMAN) doesn't work there anymore.
Regards,
TV-collector

Hi to all,
Hi TV-collector,

reactivate your (free) membership on ARF by contacting the site Manager/owner Alan V. via the following Mail :

alan AT antiqueradios DOT com

re-subscribing was required in 2023 to include a location (city or region & country) which allowed to eliminate many obsolete entries.
Give Alan your original poster name + login & eventually your signup year (to facilitate searching).

TV sub-forum is quite active & some very knowledgeable people there.

Alan is in the Philippines, so take into account a response delay due to time zone differences vs Eu/USA.

Full explanations of "how to do it" here :
https://antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=421840

Best Regards

Hi all!

Yepp the forum works again - THANX!

I am sorry that the owner of the Komet doesn’t want to contact this forum.
I wanted to give him help with schematics and an original TV chassis! But when he ignores this fine forum and others to get help and he if ignores to contact other collectors (so he is still unknown), then there is no way out.
I just parted out the chassis for the Kuba Komet!

@ Jerôme:
Bonjour à Paris! I quit the membership of the ARC, because after some changes I couldn’t log in anymore. I gave up. A new problem are the changes done by the turk, I ‘ve read about a lot of trouble. Don’t want to list it all what members wrote.
But the most ugly thing are the “attacks” with video commercials. For a while I loved to read the forum and followed threads.
In between it is a pain to read and follow threads. When I click on ARF I get this:

I can’t stand this no more. The pop-ups are making me crazy! I have a modern computer in my office, there is a newest safety software on it, but there is no weapon against these attacks! So its over!
Best regards,
TV-collector

Hi to all,
Hi TV-Collector,

Thanks! for your message.

Unfortunately VK's continued operation seems quite shaky, DDOS attacks allows it to work about 10 min per day.
No ones knows who owns & operates the site to contact and fix the issues. "Grumpy" does not reply.
The V-Bulletin forum software is hopelessly outdated and migration to something new (such as what AudioKarma is now using) is mandatory.

ARF-TV works fine, the "Turk" IT specialist (Halilesen) does a fine job and operation is reliable and stable.
If you are logged in, no advertising pollution.
Ask Alan Voorhees to renew your subscription or create a new one.
