Vertical retrace lines

I have bright vertical retrace lines on my KCS38 B&W RCA and wonder if anyone would know where to look to cure this problem.
Thanks,
John

Check the CRT for shorts.

This can also be excessive screen voltage at the CRT socket. Video circuits can also cause this at times.

Other than that, I'm not sure what other causes there may be. Someone else will have more knoledge on this problem.
