RCA Personal Portable

Scored this one on eBay last week for a decent price.
I now have all 4 colors of this set with the stand , I think I still need a white one without a stand to finish the collection.

This set almost works, has pic and sound but as usual the horiz won't quite lock in before the pic starts to christmas tree.

Why do some of these have a super long cord? I'm talking 10 feet or more! Nice to have but not all of them do.

The horizontal sine wave coil needs about a half turn. It is the one on the chassis, not the one with the knob.

The long cord was provided because the small screen required being close to the TV and you may not be close to a power outlet. It could operate on a desk or kitchen table.

I too have one of these little RCAs and I love it. Mine is grey without the aerials and stand. It also has the very long cord. Performace is quite good and it is a very well made set. It was hard work recapping but it paid off. I especially like that it is small enough to display anywhere.
