Question Dumont HV capacitors

Hi:

Another newbie in the group! I have enjoyed this discussion group from the sidelines, joined yesterday and now have a question!

I'm in the process of restoring a 1951 Dumont - RA113 chassis. I've recapped the set but am having trouble finding replacement capactitors for the HV section. They are .00047/10,000 black beauties. Allied Electronics has a capacitor on page 144 of their catalog listed at .0010/10,000.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions for replacement capacitors as well as safe installation?

Thanks, Gary

How about 2 of their .001@6000 in series. Should give you .0005@12000. I did something like that on a Pilot TV-37 for the high voltage coil. You may be able to use ceramic disc if it's not on the defelection plates, assuming it has them?
