Bizarre 16LP4 on eBay: What uses it???

I've never seen a 16" glass round tube in a TV... Of course I haven't seen every TV either. I've seen plenty of 15" glass DuMont tubes in various sets, but not a 16.

Anybody know what set(s) use it? It looks startlingly similar to a 15GP22 from a distance except for the neck, and no anode flange... Definitely looks narrower deflection than 70 degrees!

A close relative for sure. Sylvania manufactured 15GP22's. Eyeball-wise, it looks like another 45-degree design.

I was looking at a Philco service manual for a 48-1000 that I am currently restoring and noticed that some of their 1950 models used a 16LP4.

Philco 50-T1600 (table), 50-T1632, 50-T1633 (consoles) used the 16LP4A CRT. It's a 52 degree tube, tinted faceplate.

Did a Google Search and apparently, General Electric made this item for a television. As to what set and model it was for, well, that is anyone's guess.
