ZENITH FANS: anyone here going after this neat looking zenith set?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...DME:L:RTQ:US:1

It's not too far (about 2.5 hours each way.) I figure someone painted the front trim of the cabinet blue, but that can be remedied.

I like the look of the CRT mask and the front pannel. I e-mailed the seller and he said it does power up and produce a snowy raster and sound. Gota love those zeniths.

I don't have room for it. Someone here should grab it so I don't have the urge to

nobody huh? I guess what he wants may be too much for a 50s set. Just thought it looked cool.

There is a similar Zenith on Ebay right now. This set is clearly a combo. I do not like the starting price of this set.

Yeah.....450 for a 50s combo? uh no. And for all the hype that he says its working, there are no screenshots.

This set just showed up for free on craigslist, he said he put it on the curb, and it's only a few miles from me, so I'm going to head out to see if it's there, I really didn't want another set that needed cabinet work, but I'm not about to let it rot on the curb only a few miles away.

Glad you're going to do something with it Adam. I didn't want to let it go, but at 50 dollars at the time it was listed on ebay that was more than I wanted to pay. Hope its there for you.

This thing works! The tuner is a bit dirty and the vert. lin. is a bit off, and all the plastic around the yoke disintegrated. The cabinet does need refinishing. The 21YP4 was replaced in 1970. The channels are arranged in an unusual order on the tuner: 2,4,5,7,9,11,13,3,6,8,10,12.

May the angels of TV Land look down in your favor for saving this orphan To think, in a few days this could have been landfill.

My Flash-Matic has a tuner arrangement like that. I don't quite understand what the idea is. On that set it skips channels when you click through so as to put them in order. I think yours is in a different order. I have some knobs in my collection with a similiar arrangement. Somebody must know the answer-inquiring minds!
