Too often when i come across old audio receivers and amps there is that brown haze over the aluminum faceplate and knobs.

I usually use Nevr-Dull to polish it away (gotta use a hell of a lot of it though!) then use non-ammonia Windex to clean the rest. As you guys said, inside is tougher.... Sucks when you need to disassemble every last bit just to clean a heatsink or transformer that's already working as it is!
