Even though Arvin pretty much got out of the consumer electronics business by the mid '70's, they continued to supply Sears with consumer electronics until the mid '80's. Several years ago, I had an Arvin-sourced Sears stereo from about '84, or so. Everything in it was imported and I'm sure it was only assembled in the USA. Concerning your radio, it might be from the early '70's. The first digit of the four digit model number (in your case, the underlined portion of the number) is usually the year. In this case, it would be 1972. '72 Sounds about right, since it uses "KHz", instead of "KC" for frequency designation.
