On the subject of cheap TVs, my Brother-In-Law bought a 24" silver plastic crap Apex in the early 2000s, and was going on about what a good deal he got on it (I think it was on sale and was around $100). I told him, "yeah, and in less than a year, it will go belly up." Well, I had to eat my words because it lasted until about 2012, or so, when it lost vertical sweep. At that time, they were ready for a flat screen and gave me the Apex. All that was wrong was bad solder connections on the vertical output IC and I think I got $25 for it. That was right about the time when CRT sets started becoming worthless to the average person and I was lucky to have been able to sell it.
