I agree ... we seem to have lost our since of style. Keep in mind back then even low end was dang expensive as you already pointed out!
Reading your post and the way you write about this Radio I think its to late for you. You've got the bug. When you get done with this one you'll be think'. "wouldn't it be nice to have one of those tabe top sets as well? ... etc ..etc" Steve
