I have that same radio. It is solid state and has good sound. The only thing I don't like about is is that the grille cloth is attached to a piece of cardboard and is just glued on which seems kind of cheap to me. I guess I'm just spoiled by the quality of 1940s radios. I measure all others by that standard of build.
