Truetone D725
This radio was also obtained from the lady that I've been getting stuff from. This is a Truetone D725 from '36. Does not currently work; but, I hope to change that soon. There looks to be a couple of Silvertone knobs on there. I had to give her $60 for this because "the book says that's what it's worth". Since I got such a good deal on the other stuff I got from her, I didn't argue with her. Anyway, I had one of them in a trashed case as a kid. It was still a decent playing radio.
There are some people that don't need to see a radio price guide. They think that just because the "book" says "x" amount of $$, then, that's what they expect to get for the radio. They fail to read the part about CONDITION of the radio or the part about the book being a GUIDE only and the prices do not reflect current retail value. Whatever happened to the saying "something's only worth what someone's willing to pay for it?"
Like I said, I gave her $60 only because I got such a good deal on the other "stuff" and I'll probably get more stuff. So, I didn't want to tick her off.
