Anyone want an Airline radio chassis?
Yesterday I found an old Wards Airline console radio/phono out for disposal on Spring Clean-up Day. The cabinet was literally falling apart, top missing, veneer de-laminated. Surprisingly, only the knobs were missing. All the electronics were still there, even the face plate for the tuning dial. Since it was impractical to take the whole cabinet, I only took the shelf with the chassis mounted on it, the front panel with the dial bevel, and the loop antenna.
I've been looking for an old radio to salvage the tuning capacitor for a tunable AM loop antenna I've made. So far though I've been stymied because everyone that I've found so far has been in WORKING condition! I hate to cannibalize a working unit. ![]() So, before I destroy this one, I thought I'd see if there were any AKer's who might be interested in this one, either as a project or for parts. Unfortunately, the data label is missing and I didn't think to note the model # off the cabinet. All I'd ask in return is an old variable capacitor that I can use to finish my antenna project. Unless it happens to worth some unexpected amount of money, of course, then I'm sure AudioKarma would kick in. ![]() ![]() I can possibly deliver it any where in Michigan between Traverse City and Detroit within reasonable range of the route we usually take (M-66, US-10,I-75). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
