Ah, it´s you again. Did your radio come in one piece? Grin.
A picture could be helpful.
Your radio has a protective ground? Must have, for you are speaking of three wires in a chord. This is unusual for old german radios. All of mine had just a two-wire chord, exception is an amplifier with an iron housing.
Did you check the two-wire chord itself? Perhaps it is broken?
The european setup for protective ground cords is: Blue=hot
brown=hot
yellow/green=protective ground.
