I stand corrected. I guess what gave me away was when I mentioned that the Legionnaire was an "AC only" receiver and then, a few words later, mentioned AA5 radios which, of course, are AC/DC sets; the Legionnaire is of the latter design. I realized that when I looked at a picture of same on radiomuseum.org and saw part of the Legionnaire's tube lineup. The first tube mentioned is a 12BE6, which is found in all AA5s and is used as the converter stage.

Oh well. I guess one learns something new every day.
