Question Flyback question

I just bought my first tube color set, its a RCA CTC5D. It is the blonde set with the tuning and volume contols on the side and it has legs. The owner insisted he plug it in and show me it worked the last time he used it ( in the 70's). Well, it came right up! the screen lit and there was sound out of the speaker. I get it home and pull out the chassis and there was one cap completely blown up. I do already understand that it will have to be totally recapped and resistors checked before I try it again . I noticed on the flyback that it had leaked wax a long time ago since it was dust covered. So it had been hot . It also has a rubber case around it.Now, should I consider it bad or can I save it. If so how? I have worked on radios for years but this will be my third tv so I want to get it right. My first tv was destroyed by a flyback fire.
