Using the IF of an analog VCR to convert 100MHz FM to feed 45MHz FM set

One way to block convert the modern FM broadcast badn down to the old 45MHz FM band is to use the IF output of a VCR's analog cable TV tuner. Here is a closeup of a typical tuner module found inside a newer VCR. You want to connect a coz lead to this "IF out" pin of this module. Best use a 0.001uF cap to avoid any DC loading issues. This coax will feed your old prewar 45MHz FM set. Tune the VCR to cable channel 97 (which is located in the same frequencies as the FM broadcast band). And connect an antenna to the VCR tuner input F connector. Now you should be able to tune in regular FM radio stations. Note that stations that are higher frequencies will tune on the 45MHz as lower frequencies.
