Most modern TV's(there are a few exceptions) have very crappy audio and teeny tiny 2x1 inch speakers! The audio chip is the size of a button on the remote. Pretty cheezy! My 1960 Zenith with it's 2 6x9's and 6bq5 audio output tube and bass and treble controls blows everything else I have out of the water! My 1959 RCA color set also has decent audio with an 8" woofer and separate tweeter but not near as nice as the Zenith. I guess the days of "good" audio are gone for modern sets
