Too bad you do not have a TV analyst, I find them helpful for quick trouble shooting of HV. I doubt its a couplate if the grid signal is still good with the yoke attached.
Thanks, it makes sense that you're talking about the tube when I think about it. I don't think the flyback has a screen! I'm looking into an analyser as we speak on eBay, we can't seem to get them here so it'll be a US Sencore. No matter, I use the same tranny to power up my Predictas, my BK747 tube tester and soon possibly the Sencore!
