sylvania superset

after all these years,i have finally gotten a sylvania superset in my possession.thanks to my friend joe,ie,technicolors hard work.friday morning it arrived from new jersey.e-45 chassis with electronic tuning.early american cabinet.working set that needed some help but well worth it to me.new jersey joe is a straight shooter, man of his word and a fast driver!crt was weak, fine tuning mech was broken,(common on the super tuners),bad solder joints and oval power cap died!i replaced crt with a rebuilt vdc i had been saving.repaired broken tuner, reflowed loose solder joints today.set looked very good!unfortunatly we had 88 degree weather with 75 percent humidity.the power cap died.luckily,i had an old zenith chassis that had the same cap.up and running!cabinet will get some touchup and it goes beside the other 70s sets.only want left is flat chassis zenith.will have one soon.thanks again, new jersey joe!
