Sony KDL-46V4100 LCD TV problem

Someone asked me to look at the above mentioned LCD TV that someone gave him. The only action I get are the backlights lighting up and they will stay on as long as the set is powered up; but, no picture. A technician friend told me that Sony's are bad about blowing a surface mount fuse on the t-con board for no apparent reason. On my set, the fuse is good; but, there is only .56 volts at the fuse. I checked the resistance from the fuse to ground and measured 56Kohms; so, I don't think we have a short. Tomorrow, I'm going to check a few things to try and confirm if the trouble is the power supply board or the main board. In the meantime, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
