Smile Blaupunkt Amazonas

Well, I got lucky again. A friend of mine called me yesterday and said he was at the dump dropping off some bottles for recycling and saw a radio, "...that had your name all over it."

I asked him what it was and he spelled it out and said it was $35. I asked how the cabinet was, he said it was only missing one piece of trim.

I said, "Cool, why not!"

He brought it over this AM, I got right on it and the only obvious problem was the power cord being cut off. All the paperwork is there, except the original sales receipt. There was service done to it in 1971 at the same place I bought all of my Adcom stuff in the '80's (JB Sound, Rochester, NY.)

Cleaned it up, found an old plug (two prong on the end for the set) for it, went ahead and plugged it in...

WOW, does this sound nice! Amazing! Been listening to WXXI classical 91.5 all morning on it. I never would have thought stereo out of a small console like this one could sound so full.

Here's a video of it in action.
