13" Sony Issue. Too much color

Zeno, was hoping you could chime in on this issue.
I've got a Sony KV-1354 (1984) set. The picture is fantastic except for one issue I've never come across.
Does this set have an "auto color" switch hidden somewhere? Here's the issue. You can't turn off the color. You can adjust the color control (this set still uses controls) and even all the way "off", the color level is too high. So basically you can adjust the control from too much color, to WAY too much color.
Other than that, the picture is so sharp it makes your eyes hurt. lol
