The design of those rooms is interesting to someone that did not live in that decade. The author has quite way with words...It has been the most hilarious read about any hotel that I've ever had.

Being in Wisconsin all my life, I heard of Hartwig's Gobbler, I never knew it to be a "Kinky Joint".
I think it was named "The Gobbler" because the Hartwigs ran a turkey farm and processing plant.
Were the rooms rented by the hour?
