DIY ion trap?

Checked eBay, posted in the classifieds, and no one seems have a double ion trap with the black and blue bands, the kind used on the 10bp4. I know it's probably not as simple as it seems, but it's technically just two magnets. Obviously it seems like I could just take two permanent magnets and make some kind of holder for them, but that's just too easy, right?
