If you want an easy extra safe way to deal with it find a tall dumpster not monitored by security cameras and toss it in.

When there's no vacuum crunching CRTs up in a box is generally safe if you do it right....I've probably disposed of more than 10 CRTs that way without getting cut. You just need some heavy duty work gloves and a good size chunk of metal to lob into the box from 5-15' away.
