This is a very longshot l need help with my Magnavox T991-01.
This TV was born in Greeneville Tennessee U.S.A. on May 1977 l do not know how it got to London UK still in its packing box?
It looked new when unpacked all the user controls were jammed with grease which had to be cleaned out and replaced.
When powered it worked the only thing wrong was pincushion distortion which was Q7.
It has worked for about ten years (not daily use) OK until Q5 Q6 went short circuit .
The C.R.T.is still good and the TV looks like new and l would like to get it working again.
These transistors only have part numbers l have tried MJE340 and BU426 it works but the BU426 gets much too hot after a very short time!
l hope some one remembers these TVs and can suggest replacement parts or a fault in the power in the power supply which would
cause this problem.
Thankyou
Keith (BRC2000)
