Magnavox Micromatic Turntable Question

Nick beat me to the little cap on the turntable.

I got a 1961 Maggie yesterday and had it running perfectly in less than an hour. The Micromatic TT is a good design. I've never had bad problems with one, and I've worked on many of them.

For the motor and bearings, I use 10w turbine oil, sold in many hardware stores in a handy "zoom-spout" plastic bottle. A little drop will do it.

As for the rest, anywhere where you can see dried grease on a slider, etc. dab a little white grease where the dried grease was. Look closely at the speed changer assembly, as this is easy to miss.

My 1961 Maggie joins a 1956, 1958, and 1959 group of Micromatics. They all run as new.

Check out those caps. Also, reverse the plug in the wall and see if the tingle stops.
