GE progress line radio

Does any one know the specs on this radio its info plate has this info on it .

I believe it was a mobile police radio at one time trunk mount with control head mounted on dash board of vehicle it has been converted to 6meters it is a 2 channel radio it does work well it is all tubes with electronic power supply on the front of it ...

The Prog Line tranceivers were indeed trunk and head units. They could be used in business (commercial) band, fire or police bands, and a lot of them were turned into ham band tranceivers and repeaters. If yours is on 6 meters, then it was a low band FM unit and probably had an output of 25-50 watts. I wasn't able to find any info on your specific model. They are generally considered "boat anchors" today, although if you can get the crystals for the frequencies you need, they still work! Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

thank you that is more than I knew.. and it does transmit well.. At least with the watts at 25 -50 I think that I will be able to build PS for it. I got it from a guy that had it banging around in the back of his pick up for a week. I hooked it to a car batt and crossed my fingers flipped the switch and believe it or not it worked those old tube radio sure are tough..

MT16 was rated at 60 watts. If it had 2 6146 in the output, then it could go to 100 with the right power supply.

There were 110 volt power supplies for both rack and desk top configurations. There may be some around in old two way radio shops.

There was also a front mount control unit that mounts on front of the radio case, eliminating the long cable.
