Oh I deffinatly agree with you, the reds and blues on these roundie sets are rich and ruby like. This is my first roundie and it takes my breath away to see amazing rich colors like this! My CRT is as far as I can tell an original 21FJP22 as well..

I have a '65 Zenith (the one in my avatar) and the reds are so deep and rich. Mine also has the regular 21FJP22 (recently rebuilt) and the contrast is quite surprising. I've found the secret is using lower brightness settings. If the set is adjusted right the picture is amazing as you know from your own set. I hope that RCA keeps going for another five decades. Let's all keep those roundies glowing.

The Zenith is my first and so far only roundie. It is a little tougher doing your first one as you have nothing to compare it to. That's why I had to ask questions on the forum regarding performance and reliability. It's not as though I know anyone else nearby who has one. It actually seems as though the quality of color reproduction has diminished with the more recent sets. Most modern TVs make the reds look orange and have poor focus and convergence.
