Don't do anything to it. The worst that will happen is the core will "sing" a little. If it does, and it is bothersome, drip some hot glue on the cracks.
As far as recoating the flyback "tire" with corona dope, if it ain't arcing, don't bother with that either. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Also... The enemy of good is better. Capisce? |

Thanks for the advice. But I have to admit that I'm surprised to hear that I should also leave the flyback tire alone and not coat it with dope. I had heard long ago that you should do this as a prophylactic to prevent arcing. Well, given the scarcity of these flybacks, I guess I'll just leave well enough alone.
