SSTran AMT3000 gets me EVERYTHING that's on air through the web plugged into all of my old AM's. Best little transmitter for less than $100 and time for assembly is nill. AM the way it used to be.

FWIW, The Doo-Wop Express is now streaming online, 24-7. This is good news for me, as the local ingrates decided to drop its Saturday night slot for 'local country'. Good lord.
http://thedoowopexpress.com/ It's syndicated over regular airwaves too, but I can never seem to catch it. Needless to say, it sounds even better over a proper vintage radio... Thanks for the info on 740 AM Dan, good post-

Am 740
Hi,
I have just joined the forum after reading your interesting posts for some time. I grew up outside Toronto near the AM740 transmitter at Hornby Ontario. The transmitter used to be the flagship Canadian Broadcasting Corporation network station CBL which went on the air on 740 I believe at the end of 1936 when the CBC was formed. The CBC in its strange wisdom decided to vacate the AM band nationally in 1998 and CHWO was the successful bidder for the station. I am now in southern Illinois and I can get a pretty good signal here... |
