EH Scott What model is it?
I have a, EH Scott console radio that looks similar (but is not the same) as the 800B. The general cabinet layout is the same as the 800B, but mine doesn't have SW, programed pushbutton channel selection and has only one Magic Eye tube. It has 28 tubes including the rectifier tubes and the magic eye tube (add one more tube for the external turntable pre-amp). Like the 800B it has two chassis. A receiver chassis that is in the upper right of the cabinet and an amp chassis that sits below the receiver chassis. The Jensen coaxial speaker is just below the receiver as well. The turntable is in a drawer on the upper left side of the cabinet. Below the drawer is an open space for record storage (I assume). The Amp chassis looks to be about the same overall dimensions as the 800B amp chassis, but the component layout isn't the same. It came with a card that said it had been sold new in 1950 and it was a model Laureate but I look at photos of a Laureate on the web, and it doesn't look at all like mine. Can anyone tell me what I have? Is there a service manual available for it?

Wasn't there a model 500 that was very similar to the 800 series?

Model 16A perhaps - it did have 28 tubes and no shortwave... email for a scan of the Sams folder. tbavis(at)rochester(dot)rr(dot)com.
If it turns out to be the model 510, I have that folder too, but haven't scanned it yet. |
