I had a Granco AM/FM table radio, but not as nice as that one. IIRC the front end tube for the FM was an oddball noval type with a tenth pin dead center.

That tube was probably a 17C9 or 6C9 which adds a center pin to the standard 9-pin layout...RCA seemed to used these too.
