I worked for the old RCA Smirnoff Lab back then (1981). On TV. We had CTC99 and a CTC101, but IIRC no CTC100. The CTC101 was the first RCA TV with a line comb filter, and a flyback that was unreliable. Seems that RCA used a design with the high voltage secondary split into six segments, and rectifier diodes between pairs of segments. Later they used 6 diodes, one between each segment. Seems the AC field around the diodes in the 3 diode design was too high, causing breakdowns. The flyback would die, and take out the horiz output transistor with it.
