Which Zenith DTV Converter Box Is Better?

I have bought some Zenith DTT900 converter boxes on e-bay last year, they seem to be working fine. I have also bought some DTT901's New, with my coupons. I have not tried them yet, but I'm wondering why Zenith came out with the DTT901 model? Is it better? Why is it better? Were there any bugs in the 900's that they have iorned out in the 901's? The 901 has analog pass-thru so you can leave the antenna hooked to the box and still get analog stations through the TV's tuner. The 900 won't let you do that. I think that's the only difference.

Have 2 900s they work fine for their intended purpose. Pretty much equal tuner performance to a Sony, Samsung, and Viewsonic TV I own with their built-in DTV tuners.

Would be handy for the 901 pass-thru for one TV I have in the bedroom, which would make it a whole lot easier to get the satellite receiver that passes on Ch 3 (with a MTS Stereo modulator btw) without having to use A-B switches to do it. Will probaby get a 901 when one comes available.

Had one of my 900s do somthing weird last night. It somehow was squeezing the pic horizontally and stretching it vertically when "Zoom" pic mode was set to "Set By Program". Should have been showing a 16:9 letterboxed image on that 4:3 CRT TV. Finally turned the box Off and On to reboot it, and it straightened itself out.

You have to be careful running digital signals thru a modulator since they tend to have pretty average amplifiers in them which cause some cross modulation if there is strong RF nearby - ends up with a bit of herringbone on analog stuff, but its death to digital.

A friend had the antenna looping thru 2 VCR's, a sat box and a DVD-R (all on different channels) and the resulting mess over the channels made the dtv tuner in a new tv just get pixelated mess.

I have a 901 box just to play around with or to use when working on a vintage TV (all my "modern" TV's are on cable) and when I hooked it to a TV with rabbit ears that could get four channels normally, the 901 found seven channels or more (I'm in a semi-rural area.) I believe it would get a lot more with an outdoor antenna.
