Is that just a bright line or is there some foldover within that line? Could still be damper/retrace related..
Is the horizontal linearity still a problem too? Can you display a round (like a B/K Analyst) pattern? See if you're getting any "pie crust" effect. Just to be on the safe side, make sure your HOT current is ok. |

It looks like there is a small amount of insufficient width on the left side. Check the ceramic caps in the damper circuit.
What is the negative voltage on the control grid of the horizontal output tube? Last edited by Zenith26kc20; 04-29-2010 at 01:32 PM. Reason: the army left was on the first posting;) |

There is fold over within the line. The linearity is variable and looks fine except for that line. The lin coil does effect the shape of the circle like it should otherwise and the edges are smooth. Using the H setup procedure in the service notes I get between 185 & 195 ma HOT cathode current. The setting calls for maximum drive current without the presence of drive lines but not to exceed 180 ma. I’m just not sure this is a drive line because it’s present at any setting of the drive control. Regulator current varies between .8 and 1.2 depending on brightness of picture. The insufficient width varies with the setting of the lin coil. The grid voltage on the HOT is -60 volts and screen voltage +140 per the schematic. The wave forms taken at the HO grid & plate are good as well as at the grid of the HOT. I’m wondering if one of the caps shunting the yoke windings might be the culprit. Changing the connecting jumper as per the schematic has no noticeable effect on width. All the controls seem to be functioning as they should otherwise. I appreciate everyone’s attention to the color newbie.
