I'm glad to here there probably isn't foul play or scamming going on. If it were easy to restore, 1) It probably wouldn't need restoring and 2) You would do it yourself right?.
Easy is a relative word. Restoring something is only easy when it is a passion. Some of my best accomplishments were easy because I enjoyed some of the hardest and downright almost impossible tasks that were involved in completion of a goal. A sane person would ask why I went through such misery for such a small reward. The answer is love or passion.
