Just came home with the CTC-9 in tow. Cabinet is 8/10. Blonde finish
is great. It has some flaking varnish. Pix tube is rather dull on startup and after a few minutes will brighten. A brightner would help. Set is actually working with no hum. |

If the tube is coming up after being on for awhile, it may be better to rejuvinate it with a good tester/rejuvinator, or at least check it with one. If the tube will track and cut off correctly those are good signs for either a successful rejuvination or leaving as it is now. I shy away from brightners if at all possible but as a last gasp of operation to an otherwise un-savable tube then that may be your only choice. But don't use one and take away any salvagable life/longevity your tube may have.
