drat - forgot that I need to replace the channel indicator lamp, now can't see what kind of base it has, or find it in Sams, and don't have a tool that can get in to unscrew it.

Before I pull the tuner again, anybody know what bulb this is and where to find one? (suspect it's a common bayonet base bulb)

My Sams is for the CTC-5 Deluxe models. It lists under misc. a #44 bulb. Not sure if it's different for a Super chassis set. The other option may be a #47 bulb. Surprised it isn't listed in the misc. section.

Thanks - the Sams for the Super chassis only lists the part number for the whole tuner, doesn't give the bulb number.

Finally replaced bulbs this time around - used #44, see no reason it should be different.

They spec'd a #47 lamp for a reason. The #44 lamp runs a bit hotter. The extra heat might melt or darken an irreplaceable tuning indicator.

I did not find a spec for the bulb number, went by the post above that said #44 for the Deluxe chassis. Do you have a schematic that specs #47? I have those and could replace the #44s.

I would use #47's, to be on the safe side. If the indicator seems too dark, then go with the #44's.
I don't remember too well, as the last time I worked on a CTC5 was the mid to late 60's.
