I have never seen the gold bezel on these early (51-54) Philcos before, always a pale grey-green that matches the phosphor color pretty well....perhaps the set was upgraded to a larger tube at some time, and a new bezel was installed, or perhaps a little spray can "customizing" ?

Edit add; The extra holes in the back are for the optional UHF tuner that could be installed in the center of the control panel. It could be configured to use a separate antenna, or leads could be be connected so that one antenna could be switched to either tuner. Leads for that switching were brought out to the back of the set, for convience of the antenna installer. Also the leads from the built-in antenna usually came out through one of the holes....lots of connections!
