I didn't suspect any problem with the speaker (which is the original with the set). I only disassembled it because I still have a child-like curiosity about what's inside things. I just happened to notice the possible flaw when looking at the photo.
All the similar models I've seen have a sort of floral-looking gizmo for the grill. This (model 37) may have preceded that type of grill, and may be the first model that didn't have a horn speaker. - Winky |

Well it's real cool.
I was going to dig out the SD (schematic drawing (old telephone company lingo)) for it and take a look at what you've got there. Love that old "quality" of building stuff. Care was taken with each radio, and not stamped out and boxed up... and out the door. Buzz
