Admiral Cascode Television?

I always thought cascode was a generic term for mechanical tuners with channel detents....Was I mistaken?

It was particular type of RF amp stage using two triodes in cascade (hence the "cascode" moniker), providing high gain at low noise. Twin-triode tubes like the 6BQ7 were used, IIRC.

None of the goodwill shops in Syracuse will even take a vintage set-Their belief is no one wants them. And their view won't be changed, no matter how many times they hear it or from whom.

But those damned black plastic boxes they take readily and no one buys those either! Go figure.
