I'm not going to let mine run on 120VAC as I suspect that it would shorten her life, and despite some of her schenanagans I love her too much to let that happen. Though she does oscilate (read purr) at 60Hz from time to time, but her aches and pains tend to dampen the amplitude now a days.

If you connect your cat to 120VAC, I think his/her eyes will light up as in that picture even without using a flash!

Yeah, I love my cats too, the one in the pic lived to be 19 years and 8 days. She was my second cat, a diluted calico.

I'm gonna guess that these little "antennas" are better on UHF than VHF? I'd have to find one myself to try it out.

Adam, I'm wondering -- how well do these antennas work in your particular area? I don't know how far you are from the Memphis TV transmitters; however, if you are in a prime signal area I'd guess they would work reasonably well, even for DTV, although you may have to move the antenna around on top of the set (or even to another part of the room) to get a decent signal. The first pic attached to your post shows an Astro antenna connected to a Zenith 12" b&w TV. I don't see a converter box, so I'm thinking the only stations you can receive with that setup are LPTVs (low power television stations) or translators, if there are any in your area.

I'm using them to receive the signal from my own modulator. For this they work fine. But I actually am really close to some transmitters so they will work hooked to my dtv converter. They work about as well as rabbit ears not extended too far.

Well, My "active antenna" keeps growing and increasing in wavelength. Today it is working well even down to the 10 Meter shortwave band. (which is really hot today).
