That '1210 is older for sure, and a nice catch. Maybe the numbers went 1200 for plastic case and 1210 for wood, then the newer series could have been 1201 for plastic and 1211 for wood.

Years ago, I bought an aftermarket set of rabbit ears that duplicated the late-70s/early-80s Sony ones for a few dollars from (I think) Farnham Radio in New York, kind of the MCM of the early 80s. I may still have it in my garage; I'd like to find another set or two now as well.
