Never seen this one. Looks like it has presets for channel selection.
The word looks like it says ? color. At bottom R looks like a GE logo " General (GE) Electric". But I dont remember GE's with presets. I think they went right to RAT's & skipped the first step. Dont look like a GE anyhows.......... Theories: Vintage 1980, has Sanyo look to it. Sanyo used presets late. Sanyo built house brand sets like Sears/LXI. I believe CM used Sanyo chassis BUT CM was super rare in E. Mass. Only saw a few in 40 yrs. So I think its a Sanyo built house brand 1980 ish 25". PLS let us know what it is !!! PS Give em your phone # then offer them $25, you are doing them a big favor at that. 73 Zeno |

My guess is Sanyo. I think the two words below the keypad might be "Solid State"......Gee, remember when saying that was a big deal?

Well I don't because I was too young! :P But anyway, a television like that, that is still obviously a centre piece of the livingroom, and is probably still in use, must have seen to many hour of play anyway, the CRT must be very dim (I'd say 2/3 of the tv set I went to see had a weak crt).
Is it possible that the crt of a daily watcher still be good after 30+ years? The odds must be really thin... |

Did rent-a-center have private labeled sets ? Never seen one but we
were in the 'burbs, rentacenter was a city thing back then. Bradford ( Grants) was a thought but the portables I remember were GE & consoles Wells Gardener....... Did W-G ever make their own solid state set ? I only remember the hybrids with modules. The suspense is killing me, what is this beast !!! 73 Zeno |

Rent-a-Center sold many different makes. RCA, Zenith, Quasar and Panasonic.
I don't know if they had their own brand, like Colortyme. IIRC, Curtis-Mathes owned Colortyme. Their electronics were branded Rutherford.
