Nice looking Motorola set. The price was right, too.

The first TS908, in fact, the first rectangular set made. It has a Motorola branded rebuilt CRT.
The Sylvania, yuck, those pigs. It looks like the original CRT.

i liked those old sylvania sets.they would run hot though.i cut out some vents on the back it it seemed to clear up the 42kn6 issue.i dont think they were able to breathe.good performers with a fine picture.keep the moto,i ll take the sylvania

I would like to have that motorola, if you want to part with it--wanted one for over 30 years now. If you can hold it for awhile--I'll come for it.

The moto looks to have a wood cabinet to me, at least pressboaed and DOES havew a BIG power tranny too.

As for the cataract...in about 1978, when I was a kid...my best friend (then--till his mom broke up our friendship) ,his family had a TS-908, and it had a BAD cataract THEN on the outer part of the tube...the tv died in about the fall of '79, and I BEGGED them to let me have it--but they would not do so, out of "fear for my safety" even though my mom said ok.
