Andy, Yep... Correct on the post where Toshiba was considered a mid to upper brand, and come to find out.. outsourced
I know everyone was doing it on the 13" or those combo sets, but the one I bought was supposed to be top of the line, with all the features of a Wega. Altho about 40.00 less IIRC.Also.. there were some Sony's in the later 90's that rolled off the line with the Trinitron badge minus the Trinitron tube. I would not have believed it, had I not seen one either. |

when the Betas came out. Thats where I saw a few. Saw some strange stuff they made. even made a desktop calculator. It had a big clock spring looking thing that was a delay line. Polaroid had a bunch of them, I guess they kept them cause they were used to them. Twas also when the ICFC-660 & 770 clock radios were big. I would put a clock in every 10 mn sometimes 20+ a day before moving on to other things. 73 Zeno

Jon A: the set that needed caps and resistors was an "ILO", which I think was a WallyWord brand and made by Orion. It's a SPC (Silver Piece of...) that works fine and we're using it now in the bedroom. It runs a lot.
