Motorola 17P6 anyone?

I had one of these as a kid and was looking around on e bay and havent spotted one yet.

Not sure if this is the exact model# so if anyone has pics of one ide appreciate it

About all i can remember about it is it was about a 16 or 17' crt, 3 knobs on top (contrast and on off and tuner) tinted plastic screen cover, silver face, black metal sides, plastic black pannel, It resembled those suitcase style tvs.
It also had PC boards if i remember correctly

The other motorola i had was my first tv as a kid, it looked like the hotpoint models exept it had the gold knobs on the right side and the metal cabinet was brown and the face was either silver or goldish with the tinted plastic screencover. I dont have a model# for this one either .

Pics or info on these models would be appreciated, perhaps i could identify them by photos if ya happen to have a few photos lying around

Your help is much appreciated

Steve

Kbmuri....... YOU ROCK!!

The 17P6 is a dead on match.. Thats the first time ive seen EBAY get a result
for one of these tv sets... The other is close but the knobs are on the side instead of the top Theres a 14p6 on ebay that closely resembles the other tv i was looking for.

So, Kbmuri found a pic of a 17p6... anyone seen one of these lying around? If the flyback and a resistor near the H. out tube have been replaced, it might be my old one... Keep yer eyes peeled

Steve

IIRC, the set new, was rather pricey. The CRT's were rather short-lived.
I have to agree, it is an attractive design and a great performer.
Many years ago, some owners told me, when shopping for a portable TV, it was a choice between a Zenith and a Philco. They bought the Philco, because of the styling. Naturally, they were sorry, for that decision!
